Nutrients to roots

We use a mechanical aerators that are fitted with either solid tines or hollow tines. We will advise which is best for your lawn depending on the soil condition. Aeration allows nutrients to get to the roots for faster uptake by the grass.

Reduces sub surface thatch

Aeration reduces sub surface thatch which is the build up of dead grass, leaves and organic matter that naturally build up in the lawn over time. This becomes a issue as it gets thicker and is the main cause of moss. Annual Aeration can help alleviate this problem.

Oxygen the most important nutrient that is often over looked is able to circulate to the roots.

Improves drainage/relives compaction

Aeration improves drainage, reducing water run off and puddling creating better growing conditions for your lawn to thrive. 

When to aerate?

Anytime of year apart from when the ground is waterlogged or frozen.

We recommend Spring or autumn when lawns have sufficient moisture in the soil.

Spring aeration will assist to maximize nutrient uptake throughout the growing season.

Autumn/winter aeration will assist drainage through the wetter winter months.
